Infographics BALT 3318

This week I have focused more on the 'how to' style of infographics. These are very basic as they are intended to guide beginners or learners through a series of tasks. As a collegiate athlete, I decided to make a brief example related to baseball.  This example is extremely simplified as I am not too fond of using this type of infographic. If you are interested in this style I highly recommend checking out columnfivemedia.com for some of their advice in this process. 

 The first step before creating an infographic is identifying an area of improvement or a message that needs to be conveyed. I decided do take a realistic approach where I picked an area within the Benedictine Athletics Department to improve. This is the recruitment process of athletes because the university facilities and programs are exceptional, yet the success rate of recruiting is not all too high. Therefore, the message of the infographic I am proposing is that recruitment of athletes at Benedictine University needs to be improved.  Newer generations are more digitally inclined and have higher interest in modern techniques of persuasion. Our process is very traditional or basic as to what other athletic departments are doing. Designing the new ways to persuade athletes and peak interest in committing to Benedictine University is the creative part. With the project inching closer and closer, now is a perfect time to look ahead at figuring out possible clients. The purpose of the project is to obviously apply the knowledge to a real world opportunity. The project will study business activity in which I will be creating an infographic relevant to certain findings. Below are my high priority targets for completing the final project.  Superior Truck Docking Service I was recently employed by this local company and I believe it would be a great opportunity especially because I am familiar with the work. Superior is in a niche market and it would be interesting to get a better in depth look at pivotal factors in the business.  Benedictine Athletics I am currently an entry level worker for the athletics department at Benedictine University and I get an inside look at the schools graphic work.
